“Well I was really looking forward to explore my Tapas knowledge which I admit is poor however it didn’t happen tonight. Can’t fault the food that was delivered but our patron Yifi? Could barely take the time to make conversation We went for a main course (both)which was excellent but felt we missed the Alicante experience We also spent the night next to the tablet punching in the orders …… Not sure why that is so close to the customer tables? We were so looking forward to our meal which in some ways met expectations but in the form of customer satisfaction didn’t …. clearly it’s a wonderful restaurant but remember about the customer Yifi? House red is a very decent choice btw without breaking the bank.”

“Fantastic experience. Amazing service and friendly atmosphere. Easy going and quite supportive waiters, ready to help. Fresh seafood is worth dying for. Paella was not to my taste though. Gamba roja (raw red shrimp) 🦐 - is what we came here for . And it was super fresh and of an excellent quality”

“We chose La Taberna del Gourmet based on its excellent reputation, Michelin recognition, and thousands of positive reviews. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in over 15 years of travelling extensively across Europe and beyond. The grilled squid was the biggest concern. It appeared significantly undercooked, with a creamy, translucent interior rather than being properly grilled through. We noticed it early on after a couple of bites and immediately stopped eating it. We also found small plastic-like fragments in one of the aubergine dishes, which was extremely concerning. The food itself lacked flavour throughout. The grilled squid was bland, the battered aubergine had virtually no seasoning, and the potatoes tasted like plain boiled potatoes covered with mayonnaise rather than a thoughtfully prepared side. The gambas were acceptable but nothing memorable. Service was equally disappointing. Drinks arrived out of sequence, staff seemed rushed and disorganised, and the overall atmosphere felt chaotic rather than professional. We understand that every restaurant can have an off day, but this experience was far below the standard we expected from a restaurant with such a strong reputation. We left genuinely surprised by the huge gap between the restaurant's reputation and what we experienced. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing meals we've had in Spain.”

“What a great tasting experience. First off make a reservation this place gets really busy. We were lucky as we got a table by the door as we went early evening. What was to follow was a delicious adventure. With fresh ingredients paired with delightful wine.”
